International Roadcheck is a high-volume, high-visibility three-day enforcement initiative that highlights the importance of commercial motor vehicle safety through roadside inspections. While checking this element is always part of roadside inspections, CVSA is highlighting it this year as a reminder of its importance to highway safety.

Inspections are conducted every day of the year across North America, but drivers should realize that the risk of being stopped will increase during Roadcheck.

With fewer vehicles on roadways, it seems some drivers … While the May 5-7 dates are important, Roadcheck should serve as a reminder to carriers and drivers that they should always be ready for roadside inspections regardless of the time of year.

A DOT inspection is an inspection conducted by the Department of Transportation to ensure that all the CMV parts and accessories are safe to use, in good condition, and working properly. The new dates have been released for July 12-18, 2020 with a focus on unsafe driving behaviors. Each year, International Roadcheck places special emphasis on a category of violations. Updated January 03, 2020 All commercial motor vehicles (CMV) that weigh more than 10,000 pounds must undergo annual DOT inspections. There are six primary levels of DOT inspections.

Roadcheck 2020 to Focus on Driver Inspections. The change in focus is attributed to COVID-19 as well. However, with public health and safety as its top concern, CVSA has decided to postpone International Roadcheck to later in the year.

The annual Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck was originally scheduled for May with a focus on driver requirements but due to COVID-19, it was postponed. Each year during the CVSA Roadcheck event, tens of thousands of inspections are conducted. We will continue with updates as new dates are released.

The first Roadside Inspection Blitz of 2020, scheduled for May 5-7, has been postponed due to COVID-19. The roadcheck is usually during June but it has been moved up … 2020-03-26T16:17:14Z ... a 72-hour "inspection blitz" in which thousands of inspectors pull over truck drivers and assess them for safety, is postponed indefinitely.
